    We are closely monitoring the winter storm advisory for this afternoon and evening. The snow predictions vary by area and may be 1-3 inches in midtown, 3-5 inches in Upper Manhattan, and 5-8 inches further north into Westchester and Rockland Counties. For that reason we will be cancelling all classes and events on the Beren, Wilf and Resnick Campuses effective at 3:00pm today. Non-Essential Personnel may leave at 3:00 PM today, while Essential Personnel will be expected to remain on campus as directed by their Managers. Your safety is of our utmost importance and we will update as needed based on weather reports throughout the evening.

    Expect difficult and slippery travel conditions that could impact travel and exercise extreme caution when traveling.Please note the following:- The intercampus shuttle service is suspended and the local shuttle service will remain operational until further notice.- Furman Dining Hall on the Wilf Campus will remain open.- Le Bistro and Kushner Dining Hall on the Beren Campus will both remain open.- The libraries on the Wilf and Beren Campuses will remain open.- On the Wilf Campus, all outdoor parking lots will be open until further notice. Please keep in mind our facilities staff is doing their best to clear the outdoor lots but the priority will be given to sidewalks and walkways. Please note that cars parked overnight in outdoor lots may not be able to exit until later in the morning.We expect to have regular operations by tomorrow morning.Please check for updates and stay safe. Students have been receiving doctoral training at the Clinical Program at Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology for more than 50 years. The program (PsyD) was established in 1979 and has been fully accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) since 1985.Our mission is to provide students with doctoral-level training in the conceptual and empirical foundations of clinical psychology, to enable them to become knowledgeable and thoughtful academic scholars, and to train them intensively in a variety of assessment, research, and therapeutic approaches.

    Students are exposed to a curriculum that integrates relevant research and the scientific foundations of psychology, applied theories, field training, and practical experiences within a wide range of psychological services.The Clinical Psychology Program, PsyD (five-year program; 116 credits), provides students with the knowledge and skills to assume the role of professional psychologist in diverse settings. The program provides a full-time sequence of training that consists of four years of coursework, practica, and supervised experiences, culminating a full-time internship in the fifth year.Program DirectorLata K. Clinical PsyD Program's Match Rate Average of 93 Percent ShinesThe Clinical PsyD program's 96.5 percent match rate was recognized as one of the highest in the country over the last four years, according to APPIC. In 2018, the Clinical PsyD program had a match rate of 95 percent.

    Students Receive Accolades for ResearchHemrie Zalman ’22 co-authored with Katie Aafjes-van Doorn, DClinPsy and Catherine Eubanks, Ph.D. On a paper titled “Alliance Challenges in the Treatment of a Narcissistic Patient: The Case of Alex” which has now been accepted for publication in Research in Psychotherapy: Psychopathology, Process, and Outcome.Tamar Bachrach ’20 won the 2019 Stechler Research Award through Division 39 for her research titled “Pillow Talk: Understanding Sexual Exploration and Satisfaction After Marriage in Orthodox Judaism.” She will present her research in Philadelphia at Div 39 in April 2019. Ferkauf Faculty Receives RecognitionVarious faculty members have been recognized in the psychological community. Shelly Goldklank, Ph.D., is the Founding Director of Couples Therapy Training and Education at William Alanson White training program. Anna Van Meter, Ph.D., was selected for the Kavli Summer Institute in Cognitive Neuroscience, which is intended to train “the next generation of researchers” in the theoretical perspectives and methodology of mind-brain science.

    Grants Awarded to the Clinical PsyD ProgramThe Affiliated Internship Program at Bronx Psychiatric Center and the Clinical PsyD program at Yeshiva was just awarded 7 years accreditation by the American Psychological Association.
